Sean Hudson

BIO + CV

Sean Hudson is an Albuquerque-based artist and educator. His work is rooted in a deep curiosity about the natural world and a belief that creativity reconnects us with joy, wonder, and reverence.

Hudson received his MFA in Studio Art from the University of New Mexico in 2017 and his BFA in Painting and Drawing from Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design in 2009.

He has exhibited extensively throughout New Mexico, with recent solo exhibitions including Wild Light at Cafe Pasqual's Gallery, Sun & Shadow at L'Ecole Des Beaux Arts in Santa Fe, and Living Desert at Smoke The Moon in Santa Fe. His work has also been exhibited at Richard Levy Gallery, Lapis Room, and Expo New Mexico in Albuquerque.

His work has been featured in New American Paintings, Hyperallergic, and in Pasatiempo's "Final Frame." Hudson maintains a studio practice in Albuquerque and teaches at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, L'Ecole Des Beaux Arts in Santa Fe, and through his own studio, Magic Sky Watercolor, in Albuquerque.
