The Router Paintings grew out of time spent moving between the painting studio and the wood shop. I'm a painter at heart, but I've always been drawn to the physical presence of an object. Working on wooden panels, I build layered surfaces with acrylic and oil before carving into them with a handheld trim router. The carved lines become part drawing, part sculpture, revealing layers of color while giving each painting a tactile surface that invites a closer look.
