Wild Prickly Pear celebrates the high desert landscape with gestural marks and simplified forms, elevating the prickly pear as both subject and symbol. Rooted in an intuitive, process-driven approach, my work reflects Buddhist principles of mindfulness, presence, and reverence. Textural surfaces, layered gradients, and carved marks evoke curiosity, transforming overlooked elements of the landscape into sites of joy, contemplation, and connection.
