BIO & CV
SEAN HUDSON (b. Denton, TX, 1983) is an Albuquerque-based painter whose work explores change, beauty, and perception. He received his MFA from the University of New Mexico in 2017. His work has been shown regionally and nationally in exhibitions, art fairs, and in print, including Richard Levy Gallery, Smoke The Moon, and The Valley in New Mexico, RedLine Contemporary Art Center in Colorado, Art on Paper NYC, and in New American Paintings.
Hudson currently teaches painting and drawing at the University of New Mexico and leads watercolor workshops at Ghost Ranch Education and Retreat Center in Abiquiu and L'Ecole Des Beaux Arts in Santa Fe. He has a gift for inspiring personal narratives and unique styles at all levels in the artistic path.
As poet Pere Gimferrer wrote, “Seeing the unusual in the everyday, or simply seeing the everyday for the first time is to rediscover the sacred in the everyday.” This sentiment resonates deeply with Hudson’s artistic philosophy, guiding both his practice and his teaching.
